Jorge Martín recently spoke to Europa Press where he gave his opinion on his performance so far in the MotoGP world championship, comparing it to the start of last season where he showed less consistency.

– Maybe last year I didn’t start in the best way, but from the middle of the end of the season I was super consistent, super fast and I kept that pace at the start of the season. Leading is more difficult than being behind, because you have a lot more thoughts and a lot of things going through your head. But if you can separate things and try to go fast, it’s a good way of thinking and preparing for the races. That’s my mindset until the end of the year. It’s better not to think too much and just go race by race.

He added, talking about MotoGP grid sensation Pedro Acosta, who has been a big surprise to everyone: ‘He’s just another rival. You don’t see a rival as more or less, you just wait to see what he does and compete against everyone. He’s one more and it’s clear that he’s doing very well, he’s going to be one of the strongest rivals in the future.

Jorge Martín is still in great shape and leading the MotoGP world championship. After a great performance at the Le Mans GP, the Spanish rider has taken a 38-point lead over Francesco Bagnaia.

With so many rumors swirling around the MotoGP paddock about the rider market for 2025 and his possible move to the factory Ducati team, Martín is calm about his future.

Speaking to Europa Press, the Pramac Team Racing rider spoke about what he thinks of his future.

– I hope to finalize my future soon, during these next few races. I have nothing more to prove, what I did last year and what I’m doing this year in a satellite team is more than enough. This cycle (at Pramac) is over and it’s time to go to a factory team. I hope, and it’s my goal, to go to the factory Ducati team. But if not, then it will be somewhere else.

He added about the options still on the table: ‘I know I have good options and, wherever it is, I’ll do well. I’m earning my way into the Ducati factory team, there’s no other story, and I’m confident that I’ll end up being Pecco’s teammate, but what I can’t control… I can control doing well, winning races. If I don’t get that chance, it’s because it doesn’t have to happen.

The Spanish rider also spoke of the rumors about the chance to ride as Marc Márquez’s teammate.

– A Martin-Marc Márquez duo doesn’t exist at the moment, but it could happen. Who knows if we could be partners in the future, it wouldn’t be bad.

The new Regulation (EU) 2024/1257 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 24, 2024 on the type-approval of motor vehicles and engines, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles, with regard to their emissions and battery life (Euro 7) has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The change now enshrined in law, which will soon apply in all EU member states, focuses on emissions from brakes and tires in cars and commercial vehicles and on battery requirements for electric vehicles.

Euro 7 also raises the bar for exhaust emissions and testing procedures, particularly for heavy goods vehicles and buses.

Euro 7 sets stricter standards for emissions approval, production compliance, in-service compliance and market surveillance. It also addresses crucial aspects such as on-board monitoring systems, pollution control system durability, traction battery life, tamper prevention and cybersecurity measures.

In addition, the regulation includes provisions for accurately determining CO2 emissions, electric range, fuel and electrical energy consumption and energy efficiency.

It’s important to remember the enormous progress made so far on emissions. According to ACEA, vehicle emissions fell by 90% between the first Euro standard and the first version of Euro 6.

ACAP, in line with ACEA data, stresses that in order to truly achieve the Euro 7 objectives of reducing emissions, policymakers must do more to replace the oldest and most polluting vehicles on the road with newer models equipped with the most advanced emissions technology. It’s not just about incentives to increase the uptake of newer vehicles on the market, but also about establishing a holistic regulatory framework that keeps mobility accessible to all Europeans while reducing its environmental impact.

The regulation applies from November 29, 2026 to new types of vehicles in categories M1 and N1, and from May 29, 2028 to new types of vehicles in categories M2, M3, N2 , N3, O3 and O4.

With regard to tires, the regulation applies from July 1, 2028 to new types of tires in class C1, from April 1, 2030 to new types of tires in class C2 and from April 1, 2032 to new types of tires in class C3.

Francesco Bagnaia finished the Le Mans GP 38 points behind his rival, Jorge Martín. With the Catalunya GP coming up this weekend, the Italian rider will have to overtake Martín if he wants to close the gap to the championship leader.

Speaking to MotoSprint, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider spoke about the approach he will take over the coming weekend.

– First of all, finish the race: like in France, I haven’t crossed the finish line for two years. In 2022 I crashed in the first corner, last year I jumped in the second, so at least I hope to make it four corners! It was another track where we were very fast last year, we were going very fast. Sunday’s race with the medium tire would probably have given us another win, but that’s what happened.

Pecco revealed his enjoyment of the circuit: ‘It’s a circuit I’ve always really liked. It’s definitely not the safest in the World Championship because of the asphalt. That’s why it’s dangerous to race there, but it’s one of the most beautiful and characteristic circuits.

He added about this year’s competitiveness and talked about his biggest rival: ‘It’s difficult. It’s a difficult championship, so many riders are doing well, so many competitive bikes to win, a bit like in recent years. It’s going to be even more complicated. I’m sure Martin is the number one rival at the moment.

Speaking to the podcast “The Wild Project”, Jorge Lorenzo spoke about the “toxic” fans he encountered during his MotoGP career and shared some details of stories that marked him out at the time.

– I wanted to look like these characters. They didn’t affect me on the track, but off it’s not easy. One episode was when we went to a disco and, if they didn’t like us, they’d say: ‘Lorenzo, you’re a pimp, you’re a pimp’ or something else. We stayed away from them, because they never said that to our faces, people don’t get close to us, they’re cowards.

He added of Valentino Rossi’s fans: ‘One of the strongest things I experienced was in Valencia in 2015, when I won my last world championship. I won the race, Marquez was second and I was world champion. Of the 100,000 people in Valencia, 60-70% were yellow, they were for Rossi. We arrived at the parc fermé, took off our helmets and most of the circuit was chanting for me and Márquez, the two best riders in the world, the Spanish love them. Then, at the celebration, I remember being in my motorhome with music and all my friends, the most beautiful moments of my life. We were near a wall with a fence that prevents outsiders from entering the paddock and there was a group of 20, 30 people insulting my mother, my best friend. They were saying: “You’ve stolen the World Championship from us”. The Spaniards were saying: “You stole the World Championship from us”. As if Rossi was the Spaniard and we were the foreigners. It’s like Real Madrid players going to the Santiago Bernabéu and being whistled at.

Jorge Lorenzo recently spoke on “The Wild Project” podcast about how he is enjoying his retirement from MotoGP.

Speaking on the podcast, the former Spanish rider began by talking about his life after MotoGP.

– I don’t go out much, but when I do, I do it well. I control the amount of alcohol; alcohol can give you a bit of happiness. But if you drink a lot of alcohol regularly, the effect wears off, so you have to control it. Alcohol is also a drug. But it’s allowed and I try not to abuse it, but when I go out partying it gives you a certain happiness

He added that he was better known in Indonesia than in Spain or Italy: “In Indonesia, they know me better than in Spain and Italy. There, both Yamaha and Honda sell more than 4 million scooters every year and the image is the Yamaha MotoGP riders. They made us go there two or three times a year and we appeared on the main television in a commercial with the scooters. But of course we’re not seen by 5 million people like in Spain, where there are 400 million, which means we’re seen by 25 million people on main television. So when I go there as a tourist to a shopping center in Jakarta, 99% of people know me, even after five years of retirement.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 has been spotted testing again. This time, we have a clearer look at the upcoming bike. Previously, the Guerilla 450 was expected to be called the Royal Enfield Hunter 450.

Some new details that the latest photographs reveal include a displaced fuel cap, placed on the right side of the fuel tank. We also get a better look at the bike’s frame, which is the same as that of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

Everything else is similar to the test bike we saw earlier. The front design is similar to that of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the rear section is inspired by the Himalayan 450. The Guerilla 450 will most likely share the Sherpa engine from the Himalayan. The 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine produces 40 hp at 8000 rpm and 40 Nm at 5500 rpm. However, Royal Enfield can tune it differently to suit the character of the Guerilla 450.

Due to be launched in mid-July, the Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 will compete with the Triumph Speed 400 and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401.

At Honda’s invitation, we went to Marseille to see the new version of the CB650R and try out the brand new technology developed by Honda: the E-Clutch.

The aesthetic differences aren’t many, but they are noticeable: the front headlight is slightly different, as are the radiator guards and the rear unit. These changes give the CB650R a more aggressive and modern look and, as well as updating the model’s aesthetics, improve its aerodynamics and performance.

With the introduction of E-Clutch technology on the CB650R, Honda aims to mark a new chapter in the motorcycle riding experience. This Honda innovation combines familiar elements such as the quickshifter, manual clutch and dual-clutch transmission system. Weighing just 2 kilos, the E-Clutch system is ultra-compact and does not alter the clutch or transmission hardware.

The way this system works is very simple: you can drive normally, just as you’re used to, without having to use the clutch lever to change gears or make clutch points. Simply press the pedal with your left foot to change gear quickly and consistently. The E-Clutch system is activated as soon as the engine is started and manages all start and stop scenarios smoothly, eliminating the possibility of the engine “going down”.

In addition to the pleasure and convenience, the E-Clutch proved flexible over the 130 km we drove on French roads. The fact that we had the clutch lever available to activate at any time gave us a feeling of peace of mind for the first few kilometers. The system also allows us to select a level of “running feel”, adjusting the force required on the gear pedal to make a gear change.
